understocked or just right?

A couple weeks ago I moved my guppy and two corys into a 10 gallon. I know you guys say corys are best in groups of 3+, but these two have been alone together for a year since purchase (not by me, I adopted them 6 months ago) and seem to be fine, best pals. The guppy has been alone for maybe 9 months since the other guppies he was with died. Now... he seems ok, he plays with the corys sometimes and dances for my betta in the tank next door. What is the general advice on lone guppies?

Another thing... per the one inch of adult fish size per tank gallon... I've seen corys in the store that looked about 3 inches long, and my guppy has stopped growing at 2 inches. So that's 8 inches already I've got in a 10 gallon once they're all full grown. I could add another guppy, but I've heard that with two one will just pick on the other. Also, all the guppies at the store are babies so would my heavy weight Willis pick on them no matter if I got 2 more? And would my two corys even accept a third into their fold after being just them for so long? What about another species of cory?

I read somewhere someone said 4 guppies and 3 corys in a 10 gallon would be okay, but wouldn't that be way overstocked?

*Should* I add more fish, or should I keep the status quo since everyone seems to be happy? (I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't hankering for some new fish ... but I'm not sure it would be the best thing.) What do you guys think?

Oh also! I ordered some live plants today! Hopefully they'll like that.

Just buy another 10g kit! ;p Then you could get twice as many more fish. lol.

What type of corys do you have? Their sizes have a decent range. 4 guppies measured at 2.5" at adulthood would put you at tank capacity. I'd leave em as is, and buy a 2.5g-10g kit and stock some new fish if you want them that badly

Or.... I could get a 20 or 30 gallon, move these guys in there, plus more, and then divide their old 10 gallon for 2 new bettas!!!!!

AAaaaahhh!!! I refuse to give into this nasty addiction. I only have $200 in my bank account, it will have to wait. :-/

They're good old peppered corys. They must be slow growers because they're over a year old and still only an inch long (and the huge 3 inch [well, eyeballing it] ones I saw at the store were also peppered). Here are all three of them enjoying a meal together:
