How long has the bio-spira been in? If you just put it in, don't worry about your tank, if it's been in a month then there is something wrong, so the following would help keep your fish safe.
You can use prime to help make the
nitrite safe, but the long hard truth is, you are going to have to be doing lots of water changes.
Oscars are waste producers, until your tank is fully cycled, you will have to do 25% + each day if you test first and the nitrites are still up. It doesn't do any good to test AFTER your change. Test before and do your
water change if it is necessary. Good Luck
