Take the fish out into a seperate container.
Drain the warer out as low as you can.
Take out the decorations, but not the substrate.
If you can, get help to move the tank at this point.
Pick up from the bottom, do not try to move it by the upper rim.
Reset the tank up by adding back decor, water and finally fish.

You could just drain 2/3-3/4 of the water out and move it like that. Taking the water out just lightens the load. If you have tall plants, they will just layover and float on top the water. Have everything ready so your fish don't stay like that for to long and make sure you have someone there to help you move it.

I did this when I moved my tank from my apt. to my house. I have a 37G tall tank and everybody was fine. I had a 20 minutes truck ride between apt. and house too.

If your wanting to do a clean at the sametime, then yeah, pull all your decorations out.

Following Dino's advice will see your fish though the move. We transported our fish over 1800 miles on a 3-day road trip. They can be moved safely with the proper preparation.
