Can i get away with adding more then two fish to the tank at once if i use another dose of the bio-spira? I want to add 5 cherry/rosy barbs and a dwarf Gourami. The LFS is getting a freshwater fish shipment on Wednesday and I want to get the good ones first

no, same rules apply, only 3-4 fish per week until stocked, if you add more, it coul put your tank into another cycle due to the overload of of fish waste. it is best to wait a week on a new shipment to any LFS, that way you can get the healthy ones. just go back every couple of days to check the tank they are in to see if there is any die off

yea. you dont want to go and get fish the same day that they are delivered to the lfs. they are allready under enough stress by the time your lfs gets them and by you purchasing them immediately you will strain them even more. you should wait atleast 3 days after they get the shipment to buy a fish

My concern to your points is that the LFS get swarmed and 2-3 dys later they will be low again. The Dwarf they will have, I'm not concerned about him, its those rosy barbs, they fly out of that store.

Well, wait at least one day, and then be there EARLY the second. That should give you the best chance.

It is best to wait at least a day, you're more likely to end up with sick fish picking them up right after they get unloaded into the tanks at the store.

If the folks at the LFS know you, you could pick out fish and ask them to hold them for you for a day or two until they de-stress. They may ask you to pay for the fish up-front, but I think most non-chain fish stores would be happy to do something like that for a regular customer.

OTOH, most good non-chain fish stores wouldn't put the fish on sale as soon as they arrive in the first place -- they'd quarantine them for a couple of days themselves to be sure they got healthy stock.
