Are you leaving some of the fish in the 20 gallon?

I think you should look at a bristlenose pleco. I also love rainbows and congo tetras. Both do well with 3 or so, and grow up to 4 -5 inches.

Be really careful to just put in no more fish than 1 " of their expected adult growth per gallon. This will save you tons of heartache.

Your otoe will be much happeir if you get 3 or 4 more to go with him.

Are you going to let your tank comlete the cycle before you put fish over? Have fun with the new project!

thanks! my little nieghbor has helped so much with my 20, so im giving him the 20 , as he has learned all about the cycle and fishkeeping. so its just the 55 now.

i will let the tank fully cycle before fish are added

yea, the oto right now is just the last of a surviving breed, thats why he is loney at the time.

i was thinking about adding 6 or so glolight tetras, and maybe congo tetras

not a big pleco fan

do u think a male and female krib would be alright?

Right now you've got about 45" of fish, 49" if you add a couple otos for the lonly oto.

I wouldn't recommend Kribs - there's not enough room really and they'll decimate your fish population if they mate.

It doesn't look like there is room for a school of most tetras with 6" left, but the glolights might fit in without making the tank too overstocked.

i just used the care sheets from this site to find the adult size of every fish i have, and i came up with 35.5 inches. so im pretty sure i should be alright with a pair of kribensis in a 55 gallon right?

I wouldn't put kribs in. Or a pleco. Why? because they poo to much... becomes a pain to clean. Try guppies or platties. or black neon tetras

Do you have less fish listed in your sig now? What you have listed now adds up to 37". Kribs are too aggressive for that tank and would take out most of the fish listed, especially if they mated.

By the way, i was never a pleco fan, but the bristlenose catfish is a very cool tank mate. It will devour green algae! They grow quite large and the 'noses' of the males are spectacular. All they need is water, and driftwood to survive. They actually do eat the driftwood. Don't worry they don't eat too much!

http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...species_id=155 - they get to about 8" and I think you could have a golden nugget in that tank, but I'd not add any other fish to allow for the waste production common to plecos.

Are you saying BNs don't need food? They do, and a lot of it, in the form of veggies, algae and algae wafers etc..

I hope you're feeding yours.
