Chlor Out

I set up my 30 gal tank. I ran only equipment for 2 weeks and +1 week with a dead shrimp. I did a water test last night and everything was good except my pH is 7.6 and I read goldfish like a ph of 7.5.

But, I forgot to put some Chlor Out in the tank. Should I put some in now? Since it's been at least 3 weeks I thought maybe the chlorine might be ok?

I think it's ok to add the chlor out because i've come to realize that most my fish died before i started to add the dechlorinator.

the chlorine that was in the water should be gone by now, chemicals like chlorine will evapourate out of the water, but if want to be sure, you could always a chlorine test kit, most fish stores will have them, if not a pool supply store will definately have it

And do add Chlor-out (or better yet, Prime ) to any new water you add to the tank when you do a water change.

I don't believe the chloramines evaporate out of the water, so I would still treat the water.

The added benefit of Prime over Chlor Out is that it also deals with other heavy metals, locks ammonia, nitrites and nitrates and enchances slime coating.

As long as the chlorine is gone before u add fish. Thats why u can add it just before making a water change.
