My LFS has a Christmas sale, and while it sounds like a good deal to me, I thought I would ask the experts. A 75 gallon aquarium kit, including wooden stand, marineland brand tank with a penguin bio-wheel filter (350, I believe).I can't remember what the heater brand was, but all the little things,(food, net, etc.) Asking price $399. I am located in Illinois, United States. What do you think? Jump on and buy, or run -run-run away?

I'm not exactly sure but around here a 55g starter kit and stand are about $150 each. My petsmart has tank sets on display (includes tank, stand filte, heater, and all the little goods and usually some decorations) 30g to 60g that range from $300 to $600 so I would probably go after it if something like that was in my area. Maybe check up on the brands of the filter, heater, etc and make sure you're not going to have to end up replacing them and see how much that all will come to?

wow thats really cheap, in australia a 55G tank set up can cost nearly $1000 ($850 US)

It depends on the tank & stand, how good they are and what type. I think it's an ok deal, but probably not a pass-out from joy deal.
