Need your suggestion

I have a 350 Litre tank with 4 sutchi shark, 6 dollars, 2 severum, 4 apollo shark minnow, 4 guppy, 3 gouramis including kissing and a tinfoil barb. They all are very happy! Now I am thinking of adding goldfish in it. Is that ok?

I also have another 120 Litre with 6 rosy tetras, 8 serpae tetras, 8 black skirt tetra, 4 angels 6 swordtails, 4 banded rainbow, 1 boswan's rainbow, 4 platy and 5 mollies.

I want to add goldfish to my collection. what to do? Help me arrange my fish combination!

Oh yes, you can have beautiful goldfishes in your tank. But, take note of their disadvantage; they like to uproot plants and eat the roots. They are peaceful and hardy, though.

Nice collection

I would NOT suggest a goldfish. Your other fish are tropical. Goldfish are temperate. You would have to please either the goldfish or the others, and whichever was not happy would be at a much higher risk of getting ill, would almost definately be stressed, and stress leads to lack of slime coat which leads to parasites, bacterial infections, etc.

A 350 liter tank is what, like around 90 gallons?

4 apollo shark minnows each getting to 10.5 inches
Is this the sutchi shark you refer to? http://aquaworld.netfirms.com/Siluro...ius_sutchi.htm
If so that is another 12 inches each.
That would already be 90 inches of fish in the aquarium.

That's not counting the dollars, the severum, the guppies, or gourami.

I know the 1 inch of fish per 1 gallon of water is dependant on species of fish, but I believe your tank is already slightly over stocked, I would suggest no more fish, especially a fish from different temperature needs.

I agree...don't mix goldies with tropical fish.

I agree with CWC that the tanks are overstocked plus goldies wouldn't go well with the other fish. They have different water temp requirements and goldies put out a lot of waste and need a lot of space as a result.

As the tanks are right now, I would recommend at least 33% partial water changes 2 or 3 times a week to try to keep the waste under control. If you're able to return some fish to the store, I would highly recommend that.

Yes, i also don't recommend to keep goldies in ur tropical fish water tank.

Gold fish r not tropical fish they r cold water fish so as mentioned above they need different water temperature than other tropical fish..

And the 1 inch per gallon doesn't apply to goldies. It may need 2 gallon per inch or even role. The golden rule is 20 gallon for 1 gold fish n additional 10 g per added fish.

Ok I've dropped the idea of goldfish!!! Now I want to setup a new vertical tank for any of my current fishes. Actually i only have 24 inch x 18 inch space available for a new tank. What do you guys think? Which fish can i shift to my new tank and what height do you recommend for the new tank?
