I've been looking at getting one of these myself. From the research I have done it seems to be highly recommended but I have no first hand experience with it.

FWIW, all the product reviews I've read have been positive and I will be buying one in the next month or so.

I have two of the sixes and two of the threes. I love these systems, I have my bettas in the 6g ( 1 betta=1 6g ( with otos). the bio filters are really good, I like the neat look of them, with all of the stuff in the hood. I also like the bow front, really great viewing without the corners with the silicone in them like the glass tanks. The filters are efficient and quiet, easy to change the cartridges too. I have seen some complain of the water flow from the bio wheel with a betta, but personally, my bettas like to play in the outflow!!

I don't think you can go wrong with them!

Good luck!

Good to hear, Val -- I was thinking of maybe getting one of the E6 systems myself for a beta at some point.

you have to keep an eye on the biowheel to be sure it's turning, but i like their systems.

The bio wheel slows down as the biological load builds up. Mine slow down but have never stopped. If they stop, Marineland advises to just remove and quickly rinse in dechlorinated water and return.

Another good thing - Marineland has a help line either phone or online, and they are quick to answer any questions.

sometimes if the intake gets clogged or something, the water flow through the filter stops and the wheel stops. the only time that's happened for us though is when we were cycling a system with a bio-wheel since we keep the tanks pretty clean.

I've had the biowheel on my Penguin 100B stop when the filter pad gets too clogged, so I use that as an indicator that it's time to rinse or change the pad.

yea, we clean the filter pad in our only biowheel filter each week with the tank cleaning & 25% pwc. we did have 2, but the motor in one burned out on us.
