Where are the nitrates?
Greetings,
I've had my freshwater tank setup for 6 weeks now. The Ammonia spike was at 2 weeks, Nitrites followed shortly. By week 4 I was reading 0 Ammonia and 0 Nitrites. I did a water change at this point and introduced 4 tiny Columbian Tetras. There was a very small cycle shortly after but barely noticeable. The fish are perfectly healthy, and I added 2 more Columbians a few days ago. Everything is going well, and there's no aglae bloom or anything like that.
I have Java ferns, Vals and cabomba growing quite well and I'm only using a DIY C02, which surprised me because I only have 1W/gallon light.
I took my first Nitrate test today, and it's ready 0ppm.
How is this possible?
Julien
