Can Tank Size Stunt Growth?

I just got a 10 gal goldfish starter kit i was going to put a couple fish in but was wondering , if i filled it up with the max ammount of fish for a 10gal. and some of the fish supposed to get to 6 inches long, lets say i get 4 fish that would get up to 6inches. Would they never reach there full size because of the size of the tank and the ammount of fish in it?

Inch per gallon is only a generalization.

Yes, fish can be stunted by being kept in too small of a tank.

What fish were you planning on putting in the tank.

1 goldfish needs more than ten gallons.

i wouldn't put bala sharks in a tank that small. they need more room to swim and i ithink you'd end up with aggression issues arising from the crowded space in addition to water chemistry problems and the need for daily water changes.
