Covering holes!?

hi guys, i came home from a 2 day soccer turny to find a neon tetra dead on the floor i feel so bad how can i make the area where my filter hangs of the side completly sealed?

that's a shame about your neon. the rubbery shelf liner with holes in it taped down with box tape can do pretty well.

Amazing how fish will sometime find the smallest of spaces to jump through and break their owners hearts!!.. your nearest hardware store probably carries a variety of insect screening material which you can use to block those spaces.. try using the non-metal type if possible, although I have seen some experienced fish-keepers use the metal type screen and replace it if any signs of rust appear.

submersible heaters

that's one reason we went to all submersible heaters in out tanks.. one less spot for them to jump out at.

Double duct tape! best stuff for covering a hole, put one layer on then underneath stick a layer to that layer, probably doesn't make sense LOL.
