sorry to say but you are way over stocked..its 2:20 am here and im going to bed after this post...you only suposed to have one inch of fish per gallon so you take the fishes adult size...lets say i had 5 to inch fish .that equal ten iches of fish..its that simple ..now im to teird to get the exact number for everything but lets say all of those fishes adult size was 2 inches...that would equal 38 inches of fish...and i know its more then that but thats just to show you ..sorry but you need to get some of those fish a new home...later

Re: Is this Combination and Numbers okay ?

What size pond and how long would you be housing them in a tank?

Those fish would not do well in a tank, especially without daily maintenance, for more than a month. (I assume medium is 5-7 inches and small is 1-4 inches) It would be terribly overstocked, due to goldfish being larger bioloads due to bulk as well as length, but if it is very short term you --might-- could pull it off.

(a side note incase someone searches out this post and reads that they are alright in tanks) They are not alright in tanks, and should never be kept in something smaller than 30-40g per fish, but short term housings for a week or two is a different story.

Re: Is this Combination and Numbers okay ?

well you could keep the morphs and be at 24 inches...keep the dainos and have 13 spare inches.......this website has great info in its fish profiles and it has the average adult size for all of them...that will make it easier for you to figure...i dont know anyting about pond fish sorry ...im sure theres alot of people on here that could help you with that...thanks for asking about yoru tank though some newbies dont worry .....you have a nice size tank..if you want alot of fish look into getting fish that have 2 inch adult size...after reading my post you will see i love guppys...it depends if you want beauty or just like verity or watching fish school what are you into. what attracted you to those fish

Cody's right. You are very overstocked. Only I have to add that it's not only "1 inch of fish per 1 gallon of water" rule that is important. This is only a general guide. When you stock a tank, you should take into account not only its body length in inches, but also it's body mass. The more massive the fish (even if it's short in length), the more wastes it produces and the more space it needs to be healthy and happy. Six adult Neon Tetras for example, will not produce as much waste as one adult Angelfish will.

Re: Is this Combination and Numbers okay ?

thanks isabella...and also with gravel and plants and other decor you have less water...i think i might of saw that in someones post yesterday.....when my female gupps are preg they produce more waste i notice i guessing becuase they eat more...to support the fry..sorta like adults...maybe its just me...but you are dangerously over stocked..tell us what your plan is and how it works out good luck in the future...where did yo get the fish from alot of the time they ask you the size of the tank...if you bought all the fish at once they should of...becuasse like i said even if all those fish were all 2 inchs as adults thats 38 inches there..and it was much over...if they did ask you and you said a 25 gallon ...and they didnt care they should be sued or trained better ...good lucky

feel free to ask anything..cody

Yes, that too Another good point. Gravel and decor take up tank space as well, which makes your available tank space for fish even smaller than in actually is.

Re: Is this Combination and Numbers okay ?

Welcome to fishlore sunda,
I have a question, what is the weather where you live? I was a bit confused, by your post about putting fish out in a "bigger outdoor pond", you also stated you wanted to put gold fish in your 25 gal tank. Usually I think of tropical fish in the tank, and gold fish in a pond......
One other point that should be explored here is are the sword tails male and female? If they are you soon will have fry to add to the overcrowding. Sounds to me if you are happy with the fish you currently have, it is time to start looking for another tank to split your stock up as they grow.....They will be much happier and healthier.

Re: Is this Combination and Numbers okay ?

Folks, Thanks all for the kind advice. sorry for my late response as i was travelling a lot for the whole last week and have no access to e-mail in the places i have been. This morning when i returned to my place and was very anxious to open this forum and to see all your postings. Cheers Mate.

The ourdoor pond i am planning to move my fishes is, not exactly a pond but a round cement tank which is of 2 feet in height and 3.5 feet of perimeter, (circle) ....

Sustina, i live in India and weather here is hot. As u suggested let me place my gold fishes in this cement tank. Hope i can put some medium sized of 5 nos....(don't say am overstocked again )

Cody, as you asked me what attaracted me to those species of fishes, i answer, i like to have some bright color (colorful) small fishes , which should not be slow moving but schooling fishes....i do love guppy a lot.
(of course i love Gold fish and Angel too, though they're slow moving ones) and out of this colorful attraction said above, am installing another tank in short which i am planning to have sword tail, platy, yellow mollie (is the name correct, correct me if wrong) and white mollie....so that my tank will be so colorful.... hope this combinations are okay....(hve not deceide about the size of the tank yet.)

Also, can u please let me know is the name Blue Morph correct....i was told by a local fish store here it's blue morph, and i bought some 5 in them but am not able to find one in Fishlore.com or in any other sites....probably is that name wrong....the fish is blue in color with some stripes over its body as Tiger Barb have.

Cheers MATE.
