wow...i don't know how to describe this, but i'll do my best :
yesterday i walked into my room and there was a "coffee/mold" smell coming from my tank

has this ever happened to anyone? or is this just a bacteria bloom that i've heard nothing about...

any help will be greatly appreciated

Is your tank leakin?? If it is alittle bit, you could be getting mold somewhere

no it is coming from the tank itself...i smelled the water in the tank and the smell got a lot stronger

When was the last time you did a water change or cleaned your filter?

i just set up my tank like a week and a half ago...and was told that i shouldnt do any water changes when the water gets cloudy, b/c that was just a bacteria bloom...did ur tank ever smell weird when you first set it up?

Is this your first experience with a tank? or do you have/have had other tanks?

I only ask because I do find that a tank has a specific smell to it no matter what... Just seeing if you're not used to it.

i had a 10gal. when i was younger...but it smelled like a normal aquarium...this smells like rotting coffee beans or something similar...its so hard to describe smells

Yes, there has to be like a webcam but for smells... a websnout!

You click the websnout button and you have a wireless snout on your tank hood and it will sniff your tank (or anything else you need sniffed)... and then output the smell through your web____. Hmmm.... Web__smellcauser__ (without being gross!)
