New Tank, New Setup, Any Suggestions?

My husband and I are planning on purchasing a 29 gallon tank and stand next week, and we have some fish in mind for it and wanted to get some outside opinions on fish numbers and choices! Thanks a ton!!!

We already have one healthy rainbow shark and one bala shark that may or may not survive into the new tank after it cycles. Other than that, here's what we're looking at:
1 rainbow shark
(1 bala shark)
1 African Butterfly Fish
2 Angelfish
1-2 German Blue Rams (or another type of ram)
The amount of these will be determined by the health of the bala.

I know I'll have to make sure the butterfly fish gets food with the angelfish being more aggressive about eating, but beyond that, any ideas or suggestions? We were considering getting a small school of smaller fish (some danios perhaps), but didn't know if that would be a good idea with the kind of other fish we're looking at.

We're also planning on getting 1 tall plant, 1 short plant, a few small rocks, and maybe a piece of driftwood for the tank, as well as about 30 lbs. of gravel/rock for the bottom.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Correction: The Bala isn't going to make it (see post about weird symptoms under fish disease). So now maybe 2 rams? Any thoughts?

Re: New Tank, New Setup, Any Suggestions?

The Rainbow will get to 6", the african butterfly 4", the angels to 12", Rams will probably run about 4" so even just 2 Rams would take your tank to 30" of fish, which fills up your Bioload. Angels can be aggressive when they buddy up or are mating.

Danios might work with the rainbow, but you'd need at least 6 to keep their bad behavior down.. but i think they would be a problem with the angels, besides there isn't room for both types unless you did a single angel.
