Diatoms

Does anyone know how to get rid of Diatoms covered with Green algae ...I just spent 2 hrs scraping them off aquarium glass. Water levels are perfect...0 ammonia and nitrite and .5 nitrate...I also have 2 bristlenoses and 2 chinese algae eaters and 1 pleco...They can't get the job done..Aquarium is not in direct sunlight and light is on 4-6 hrs per day. Anyone ever had success with this. Thanks

Re: Diatoms

Diatoms are usually the problem of a new aquarium. How long has the tank been set up? What is your water change schedule? Do you have live plants? Sorry for all teh questions

Re: Diatoms

Sounds pretty good, may need a couple of Otos to clean it up for you.

Re: Diatoms

Yea, Otos or shrimp might be good. Sounds like a big tank to have a pleco. how much room do you have in your bioload for additional algae cleaners?
