I have a 10 gal main tank right now. I found a 5 gal eclipse system on sale and am thinking of getting it as a quarantine tank. Would this be an appropriate size for such a tank? Or should I go with another 10 gal?

Since QT is usually a short term proposition, I would think 5 gallons would be fine. Unless of course the fish you are potentially going to quarantine are a foot long or something. What kind of fish do you keep?

Danios and Oto's currently. At some point I will be switching to guppies, but that is down the road a bit when I have a better house set up for the event of fry...

Any of those would do fine in a 5 gal QT. You should not keep them in there long term, but for quarantine purposes, go for it.

I had a 10 gallon qt tank for a while and it was great. I had to get rid of it because i have no more room. i have a Eclipse 3 gallon and i love it i keep my betta in it works great you will like the 5 gallon. Is your 5 gallon Hex tank?

No. it's the 5 gallon corner tank, which I like the design of. I dunno. if I got the 5 gallon, I would probably keep my betta in it and use my 2.5 gallon as a q tank, but it's so small that water quality is hard to maintain. i gotta go price a few things... Thanks for the help!
