Does anyone have the Penquin Power Sponge Filter, made by marineland and capable of 170gph? It's the only sponge filter we can find at petco or petsmart and we want to use it in a tank with mahachai betta (they're recommended to have a sponge or corner filter). Petco online has it on sale for $26.99 ending today.

I have heard that the motor can burn out and that you have to replace it within a year. So that is the only thing i have heard about it.

Thanks. we decided not to go with that sponge filter after talking to the betta sp. mahachai breeder we're getting a breeding pair from and sounds like that's a good thing.
