New to the forum.. Hello all.
Quite a bit of extremely useful information here. Thanks for already answering most of the questions I had..
One question that I still have however is regarding the set up of my
canister filter, a Cascade 700.
The instructions, although pretty clear, did not really go into the media tray set up. Would someone mind giving me some advice/suggestions on how to setup/fill these trays? Currently I have it set like the picture showed in the manual.. Black coarse pad in the bottom tray along with a white pad… and in the second tray I have another white pad along with the carbon bag. Is this correct?
I have read numerous posts on the forums here regarding the advantages of ceramic biorings as well. I do have them (Penn Plax) but not installed yet. Should I install them in addition to the black pad?
If someone would give me the most effective way to set up these trays (there are only 2), starting from bottom to top, I would surely be grateful.
Media suggestions would also be welcome. The tank is *not* planted. It is a Cichlid tank. It is currently cycled and has 9 critters in it. 60 gallon.
