| Re: Changing a seal on the tank I also got a heck of a deal on a 110 gallon with a leak in the seal. Hubby painstakingly removed the silicone from the inside and had to crawl up in it to do this. After the silicone had dried for a few days, we put it out on the front porch filled with water to check for leaks and it seemed okay. We then set it up in the house and added our fish. Everything was fine for about 4 days, and it sprung a leak. Since that time, I bought a 100 gal. tank new that is now their home, and the 110 is still empty. We have since resealed it, but haven't checked it for leaks yet. Resealing a tank is a lot of work and can still leak when you finish doing all that work. You can try, but it's quite a risk, at least in my experience. |
