sponge filter...

Well I need a sponge filter for a Q tank...are there any good brand names? And seeing as the person at Petco didn't know what they are :P, I think I will have to order it online...any idea where?

Re: sponge filter...

Try this one or check the site to see if one of the others might meet your needs better.

I hope this helps.

Re: sponge filter...

Here's some for $3.00 apiece. I have never ordered these, but this site is usually selling on aquabid and has been participating in weekly auctions on another board with no complaints!

http://froogle.google.com/froogle_cl...ring=mrd&hl=en I find even better than a sponge filter and would work good for a betta and only costs 2$ each for me at a lfs, get two or one and you'd be all set.

Re: sponge filter...

I've seen filters like that atmmachine, but I was worried they'd create too much water movement. The Q tank will be just 5 gallons. I don't want to upset the Bettas...

Re: sponge filter...

I don't think they'd create much more water movement than a sponge filter, and if your'e worried you can get a 2way gang valve and adjust it to how many bubbles come out as you like it.

Re: sponge filter...

Hmmm, I think I want to stick with a sponge filter. That make your own sponge filter was cool but it sounds like it would be really powerful for such a small tank.
