So I have a CHEAP tetra powerwhisper but I'm thinking about getting a new Aquaclear powerfilter for my 10 gal. The power came in the kit I bought. But I'm worried that all the good bacteria that has been growing is going to do go down the tube when I need to get a new filter bag.

I have seen this at one of our LFS and they look nice and look better then my one i have now. I like the way the filter is set up.

is this filter any good?

yes it is just take the old filter bag and place it in front of the new filter and it will suck it up in to the new filter.

Aquaclear is one of the two filter brands I prefer.

Aquaclear's are pretty rugged. I've had the same 300 Model (Now a 70?) running non-stop since 1991, with no issues. That's through a lot of abuse, neglect and occasionally, just plain forgetting about it. The only thing that ever needed replace was the impeller, because I'm a clutz and I dropped the original one and broke the magnet
