I think you'll find most people on this forum agree with the betta care guide you linked to, rather than the breeding guide. Small containers are useful for growing out male juveniles, if you can keep a constant temperature and do daily water changes, but most people don't pull off one of those two, let alone both.
As far as changing the breeding guide,
Mike has said in the past that any article listing Aquarticles as the source is something we can't/shouldn't edit (post #24), I assume because they're reposted with permission and the content isn't
ours to manipulate. Maybe he can add a note to bottom of the article as he mentioned in the thread I linked to, though
Or maybe it can be replaced altogether with MM's
breeding guide, which seems more thorough anyway (except the explanation of tail types, which has also been covered
here).
