| Latest 10 Posts section At times, following links from the 'Latest 10 Posts' section under the forum index results in a "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" message, which I'm guessing that it has to do with the fact that newer users have to have their posts approved by a moderator before they are viewable to the general public. These threads are always viewable later, and are always by newer members.
If the approval process becomes a permanent thing (I'd read somewhere it was only temporary), can we change the 'Latest 10 Posts' area so it only displays the top ten that have been approved/don't need approval? |

| sometimes those threads have been in the process of being deleted for one reason or another as well ....and we go to read them before they are completely gone |

| I get what Mathas is saying. These are the posts from new members that are waiting to be approved. They shouldn't be at all visible in the forum.
I'm not sure if Mike has a way to get them taken off of the "10 most recent posts," but I'm sure he'll take a look at it.
Mathas, do you ever use the "New Post" button at the top of the page? If so, have you ever seen one of these unapproved threads in there? |

Depending on how the approvals are tracked, it could be as easy as changing one select statement, but Mike seems like a fairly smart guy I'm sure he can figure it out, it's finding the time that could be the problem! There's always more tweaks to make than there is time to make them. |

| I can probably explain this.
When new members starts a thread and they don't see it right away they think it didn't get posted and post the same question again, possibly in another part of the forum.
It's one of the pitfalls of having new members moderated for a certain amount of posts.
What mathas has probably encountered is that thread is probably in the process of either being moved or deleted. Refreshing the page should remove that invalid link.
Hope that wasn't confusing, I almost confused myself. |

| Also we merge post at times or delete post and they will occasionally leave that message. I try to un-click that option if I'm doing some moving around of posts.

Refrshing the page should remove that invalid link. | I'm sure that's happened a few times, but I'm betting it doesn't explain every time I've seen this happen. There really can't be that many double-posts without any of the duplicate threads showing up in the same Latest 10 list. If I saw two threads with similar/duplicate subjects, and one lead to an invalid thread link, I'd agree, but that's not happend yet. It's always single threads by new(er) users.
Today's specific examples are the following threads: Two Quick Questions... Clown loaches
Both are by members with less than 5 posts at the time of posting, both are now perfectly visible. Did any moderator do anything with threads by those users today, other than approve them? |

| Nope. I was approving that user's posts almost as quickly as they were made. |

| I was moving "2 quick questions" from the Welcome forum to the beginners forum and approving his posts.
There was also a duplicate thread I deleted.
I don't remember if it was titled the same, but the questions were the same. |

| That latest posts thing is like an add-on to the software. It might not be checking to see if they are "approved" for the brand new members. |

| Thanks!
I think I understand, Mathas must be seeing the threads, but not able to view them if they haven't been approved yet. |

| Ah, that makes sense.
If it's an add-on, and hasn't been built to not show the unapproved posts, that explains things. |
