I've posted several new threads over the last few days, and then today I get a message that a new post is moderated. Why?

I can understand the confusion. Let me just say that due to the recent vulgar posts by spammers in the last few days, Mike has had to implement some changes. I will approve your posts for you.

We had a hectic few days trying to keep up with the spammers and report them to get them off of here...to bad innocent peeps like yourself will suffer for it, but if you had of seen the posts you would understand....welcome to fishlore and have fun.

Oh, I understand. I run a community site similar to this one but for the model railroad hobby. Spammers can be oh so fun.

I finally had to build in my own captcha (scrambled letters/numbers) system to stop the spammers. But it did work.

If someone would be kind enough to fire me a PM when I'm approved for full normal posting that would be great.

I just pulled a post from this thread and banned the member because it was porn. Sorry y'all are having to suffer for the stupidity of a few people.

I've seen some of the posts... those guys are such morons! Good thing getting rid of them!

Luckily I haven't ran accross any of those!! I run a small paranormal group on yahoo. And i've seen tons of those groups that i'd like to join but then notice it's basically been abandoned and spammers have taken over! Very sad! When I get a new person I will moderate their posts to till they have proven themselves to be genuine too!

Spammers don't like to waste their time on posting legitimate enough messages to prove themselves so if you moderate the new members posts you can catch the spammers easier like these mod here are doing!!! But that does make it a pain for the genuine members. Gotta be carefull who gets in our fish site

Thanks, Mods for taking care of FishLore! I had reported a post or two recently but I haven't been on much and didn't realize that it was so bad. We appreciate you keeping up with things for us.

I think you need 50 posts before you can send or receive pms.

I'm pretty sure your posts should be showing up right away now.

We're sorry the mods had to take action and unfortunately the new members needing help were inconvenienced.
