RESOLVED - New Replies Issue

I've asked a few people but can't find an answer.

When you hit New Replies, it's the same as before... any new replies to anything you're posted or commented on will come up. However, how do I get rid of them!? Before, after I've read them, they would go away, OR I could click "Mark Messages Read" or something like that.

Any help? I am now going on 7 pages of new replies and I just can't keep up with anything. It's getting to the point where it's really making me to not want to log in... and I don't want that!!

Re: New Replies Issue

There is a thing near the top and it says 'Forum Tools', click on it and then move down to mark a read and it will mark everything in that forum as if you read it. Hope it helps.
Tom

Did that answer your simple question?
Todd

He wasn't around for a while, but when he read this, I think he got a little mad.

Re: New Replies Issue

lol sort of. Is it under "Quick Links"?? Mark All Forums Read? But what if I just want to mark my New Replies as read?

Anyways, I clicked it... so everything is unbolded, but it didn't go away.

So, no, TODD, it didn't answer my simple little question.

No, look above the stickied posts and it says it there. If you can't find it, I don't know.

No, that is just for forum threads.

I want my own "new replies" section to be empty, is that possible?

There is a section (I can't remember how to get there) in your settings to UNSUSCRIBE to them. That's how they cleared up for me.

Yeah, but I am not subscribed to them. I tried that already. It's just the threads that I have posted on....could be MONTHS ago. I now have like 9 pages of them.

Thanks for the suggestions!!

As far as I've seen, you suscribe to them everytime you post a reply. I didn't suscribe to them either, that I remember, and had to do that at one point. Now I ignore them and just pay attention to the first page.

Try going to my settings, then subscribed posts. It's the same as it was on the old board except now it's considered subscribed posts. It records the posts that you posted in or started and shows whether you have a new reply or not.

Yeah. I guess that's just what I'm going to have to do from now on is to go there first and that's how I'll check my posts. It's just kind of ridiculous to have 9 pages going on 100 of "New Replies" that in theory could be years old! So hopefully, something in the future will be done to make it more like the last setup.

pages and pages..

yea, i know what you mean.. at first i had it auto-subscribing to everything.. now i have none.. Mike's made that something you don't really need unless you want it with all his improvements to the site & new features.

Yes, I explain the subscribed thing here: Get Emails on New Replies to My Posts

It will show you how to subscribe to ALL or INDIVIDUAL posts if you like. Once you are inside the subscribed threads area, you can sort by date and once your read the thread it should be unbolded (is that a word?) once you subsequently visit the subscription area.

I've searched and searched for a way to make it similar to the previous forum style but just can't seem to find anything for new replies. The subscription system is as close as I can get it.

Hope that helps,
Mike
