FIXED - Yet another complant...

How do you make the newest posts first and the oldest ones last. I know if you click on the 'Last Post' thing and it puts the newest first, but it doesn't ever stay that way. How can I fix that?

Change it for Acending to Descending

Most of the forums appear to be set typically (ordered by latest post) but some/all of the sub-forums (Ex: Discus) are ordered by the date the thread was started.

There is another little scroll down box right beside it and it does what I was asking and it saves it that way too.

Am I missing something here? We are talking about the same forum, yes? Or does this relate to the previous version, because I can't find any of the buttons you talk about....

All I have at the bottom of the forum is a few static links! I am well confused, and that's not like me.... I have never had problems like these before and I've set up quite a few forums!

Ah! I get it... you are talking about the drop-down at the TOP of the forum, in the Quick Links, in the edit Options! Whoever made this forum soooooooo complicated.... it is much easier to just go the to control panel and work from there! The Quick Links is supposed to make things easier? It just confuses the F*** out of people!

Nope. timg, open up, say, the New Forum Issues Log forum. Towards the bottom there will be a box with what Alasse mentioned. If you can't find it, Ctrl+F "Display Options". It doesn't show up inside of a thread or on the broad section of the board.

I actually thing for the most part this is a much better system for a forum, about the only thing I liked better about the old one was custom avatars (which you would think that can be ironed out on this one), and the spell check was handy. But the acending to decending thing was better on the old one as I like acending ie first post at the top of a page and read my way down, but on the old board you could use the find your own posts (this one does too) but on the old one when you clicked on your old post to view, the view started right at that post, and you could read on from there (not a huge deal but was handy). Was handy on times when you are kinda posting back and forth with a repeat person on a certain subject. The who is on and what forum they are viewing is very handy though, and makes it nice when you are posting back and forth with someone or monitoring a post.

On the last thing posting back and forth, I personally think a #fishlore IRC channel would be fantastic. You could have a link on the forums with a forum based java irc client, or people could use there own mIRC or chatzilla from firefox etc. Would be a fantastic place to idle and ask or answer questions with other fishlore members in real time. Its just allot more social then say msn messenger etc.

Okay, so it seems that I have to change this setting for each forum...however, the setting usually doesn't take. If it does take, it doesn't stay once I return. Grrr....
