Any change will take getting used to, but as I do not think the conversion is complete yet, it seems a little early for a poll like this.

I don't mind it too much. The other forum I'm on uses vBulletin, and I like it quite a bit. I really like the way the quotes work (they only quote the actual post, not all of the quotes up to that point, which can create really long posts).
What I'm trying to find out right now is whether or not there is a way to check in on the threads that you're currently subscribed to, without checking all of the threads.

I dont think the set-up is complete just yet. But, I'm hoping that we will be able to customize our avatar and be able to change our user name so that it is not just the beginning of our email address.

Personaly I don't like it. I think its because this is the style of another forum i was on and everyone hated each other and it was full of arguments! + it doesn't look like fishlore! I like our names etc on the side. Also everything seemes so big. just doesn't feel like fishlore to me. Sorry!

I think we need to give it time to bring all the features in properly, but the early indications are that it is troublesome, frustrating and doesn't do what it's supposed to. There seems to be problems with images on new posts, http comments showing in posts, failure to upload new images and then they get lost when they have uploaded, Avatars disappear and don't show in the posts and a few other issues, I am sure. Most of the problems seem to be with images though.

I noticed that the fry gallery post has lost about 3 pages, and along with it many pictures and posts.

To be honest folks, I don't like it, and can we have the old one back please?

The names can still go on the sides, if Mike ends up setting it up that way. I like it, too, it seems easier to equate a post with the person who made it.

When of my chief complaints with the new set up, is the fact that our posts do not automatically get posted. We have to wait for a moderator to approve the post first! That is not making our posting any easier, if we have to wait for it to get posted to the topic.
After a day of using this new forum I am not enjoying it at all...
and probably will be using the PM a lot more often!!

Same here. It's getting on my nerves now. for one thing you don't know if anyones posted before you, if theirs hasn't been approoved yet and if someone needs help quickly and there isn't a mod online, it could take ages for someones post to be posted.

I dont know about you, but I find that I spend way less time on this forum now than I was originally when we used the old style. I find that the whole thread/post "upgrade" is too much hassle to check now. I log in, see if I have any PMs and get out.

Ye same here. I just find i'm on for less time, just want to logg out after a while, whereas before I didn't want to come off and my mum used to have to force me! lol

I'm still new here,but I liked the old forum better.It was easier to find your way around and it looked better.There is nothing there anymore that shows all the replies to just my threads which I really like(unless I'm blind...lol).It seems all weird now.

What's this about mod approval for posts? When did that come in? I haven't spent as much time on here that last few days either, mainly because all the threads that I was notified about don't notify me anymore, buyt I'd not noticed mod approval for any posts that I had made yet!

I am really peeved by the loss of the 'new replies to my posts' search. It makes searching for new replies soooo tiring and inefficient. I am also really hoping that we recuperate all the lost pictures in our picture galleries. So overall, I am looking forward to things getting better, but I think we've lost some important stuff in the move.

yep, i'm really struggling with this new setup!! its such hard work and i cant find any posts that i've previously used, the mod to approve thing got on my nerves to. its just not as easy peasy as before!!! and i miss all the smilies!!

Oh the smileys are there. It's a question of turning on your whatsamaggick in your settings. Hang on, let me check what it's called exactly.

OK here it is: My settings/edit options/miscellaneous options/message editor interface. There you must choose Enhanced interface.

I struggled wiht that too, but Dave came to the rescue.

I think the changes will bring some teething problems, but I don't expect the uncomfortable period to last that long. We're trying to work out what the formatting codes mean in the 'new replies' and my posts' search results. I think once we've cracked that things will be nicer.
