What do you think of the new set-up

When of my chief complaints with the new set up, is the fact that our posts do not automatically get posted. We have to wait for a moderator to approve the post first! That is not making our posting any easier, if we have to wait for it to get posted to the topic.
After a day of using this new forum I am not enjoying it at all...
and probably will be using the PM a lot more often!!

Same here. It's getting on my nerves now. for one thing you don't know if anyones posted before you, if theirs hasn't been approoved yet and if someone needs help quickly and there isn't a mod online, it could take ages for someones post to be posted.

I dont know about you, but I find that I spend way less time on this forum now than I was originally when we used the old style. I find that the whole thread/post "upgrade" is too much hassle to check now. I log in, see if I have any PMs and get out.

Ye same here. I just find i'm on for less time, just want to logg out after a while, whereas before I didn't want to come off and my mum used to have to force me! lol

I'm still new here,but I liked the old forum better.It was easier to find your way around and it looked better.There is nothing there anymore that shows all the replies to just my threads which I really like(unless I'm blind...lol).It seems all weird now.

What's this about mod approval for posts? When did that come in? I haven't spent as much time on here that last few days either, mainly because all the threads that I was notified about don't notify me anymore, buyt I'd not noticed mod approval for any posts that I had made yet!

I am really peeved by the loss of the 'new replies to my posts' search. It makes searching for new replies soooo tiring and inefficient. I am also really hoping that we recuperate all the lost pictures in our picture galleries. So overall, I am looking forward to things getting better, but I think we've lost some important stuff in the move.

yep, i'm really struggling with this new setup!! its such hard work and i cant find any posts that i've previously used, the mod to approve thing got on my nerves to. its just not as easy peasy as before!!! and i miss all the smilies!!

Oh the smileys are there. It's a question of turning on your whatsamaggick in your settings. Hang on, let me check what it's called exactly.

OK here it is: My settings/edit options/miscellaneous options/message editor interface. There you must choose Enhanced interface.

I struggled wiht that too, but Dave came to the rescue.

I think the changes will bring some teething problems, but I don't expect the uncomfortable period to last that long. We're trying to work out what the formatting codes mean in the 'new replies' and my posts' search results. I think once we've cracked that things will be nicer.

there is a problem with the enhanced setting though. The message has some lag on it, so you sometimes have to wait to see the words you have written.

It seems to be a problem with the amount of javascript that the interface uses, but it is getting better.

i don't like the new set up, the simple one was much better, the new one is more crowded and confusing, the smileys r gone!!!!!!!!!!! and now after the set up my signature link is gone, i can't link it properly now, my user name has changed, it was Neville, now it is neville and all our pictures are gone, and now we have to post those pics again! why do we have to upgrade so many times in a month? a major upgrade should be performed only once a year!!!!!!

The smilies aren't gone! , but i agree the simple one was much better, even though im getting used to this one slowly. If only it wasn't so sssssllllllloooooowwwwww!!!!!!
