A suggestion about logging out

Is there a way Mike that you can change how you get logged out. I was replying to a post and hit post and the forum logged me out since I was on for my set amount of minutes when I logged on, but my post was erased. Is there a way that you can log back in and post what you just wrote instead of having to re-write it all again?

thanks

austin

Re: A suggestion about logging out

You could check the box for always being logged in.. or, if that happens, go back in your browser history to the reply page and copy what you typed. Then do the reply and paste what you typed in earlier.

I did this but it does not work on my browser. Is it ok if we stay logged in all the time or will that cause too much cpu usage and the forum down for some time?

Re: A suggestion about logging out

I think it should be ok if you select the stay logged on option when logging in. If I type a long reply I always highlight it and then copy it before hitting the post button for that very reason. Been burned a couple of times when hitting the submit button and losing a reply.

i've been having a similar issue, but i thought it was just me. it would do that to me even though i click to stay logged in. is that just a problem on my side?

Re: A suggestion about logging out

griffin - can't say for sure what the problem is regarding your logging out issue. It could be a session limit on the server that may disregarding that check box. Not positive about that though and not sure how to change it. I will add it to the list of things to look into though.

Re: A suggestion about logging out

I always just type in 555 minutes when I log in. If THAT doesn't keep me covered for the length of my visit...then I have a problem.

why not 999? you never know - you could get in a heated debate over brine shrimp and get logged off right in the middle of making a winning point!
