A helpfull advanced search adjustment

First of all I'd like to thankyou for this excellent forum - it's been a real blessing for a newbie like me!

Since this is the sugestions page I feel I need to make one though: I am a little frustrated with the advanced search page.

There is a button to "check all" forum areas to search, but when I want to search just one or two forum areas I have to manually un-check every other box - now on a busy forum like this that's alot of boxes!

Is there any chance a button to "uncheck all" or perhaps load the page with no areas checked since the user can already "check all"? It would make my experience far more productive and enjoyable.

If you press the 'check all' button, it unchecks them all and you can do what you want from there.

Ooooh, Mike? While we're in the advanced search adjustments. Am I being silly (quite possible) or... Whenever I click on advanced search, the text to search disappears and I have to type it again.
