hi there....just got my pc up and running again! but need advice please..a.s.a.p

Help..... i got up yesterday and have found one of my zebra danio's being attacked by my tiger barb, so i took a closer look and danio did'nt look well not very livley and seemed tired , and of course my tiger barb homes in on the sick one's , so i just seperated danio still in tank but in a net so he cant be attacked.
Now i have looked closer he has red marks on his belly where barb has nipped him, and he has an eye missing!!!!!
The poor thing, i dont no what to do with him , i thought he would have died but he is still living , i keep letting him have a swim around the tank but cant leave him for to long or he gets attacked! i think he would be ok if he had both his eye's it is making him lop to the left where the eye is missing.

What can i do
Cant keep him net forever.

OMG i so wish i could help . i couldnt read your post and not say anything, but i'm no good with behavioural and poorly fish!! i'm new to this myself . i'd say i'd euthanise, but its easy to say that, but when i was faced with a dilemma of euthanising, i just couldnt do it. there's options of putting fish in water then putting in freezer and they apparently just go into hibernation then eventually die in their sleep or something to do with cloves or putting them in a bucket of icy water or beheading them with a sharp blade. its* a mine field and i dont like the sound of any of them, but i hate suffering too. at least with other animals its a simple injection.

have you put some stress coat in? i'd also take the barb back to the shop. i dont trust them at the best of times!! poor danio. i think the net will add to his stress to. cant the barb go in there and let the danio swim? the net will surely just rub his injuries more when he touches it, by swimming the water rushing past him may help keep the injuries clean and flush out anything nasty....like us running water over a cut rather than just submerging it?

i'm really sorry i cant help.

let us know how you get on and i hope someone who knows what they're talking about will help you soon.

by the way, people are more likely to see this post if its on the disease board. i know its not disease, but its fish needing treatment and in urgent need of help. i imagine this board doesnt get looked at as often.
