Text to Speech Inside Posts - New add-on

If you click on the little speak button inside each post a window will open and create an mp3 version of the post and a computer generated voice will read you the post. This could be useful for any members that have visual challenges.

Cool? Yes/No - Keep it/Dump it? It shouldn't impact page load or server performance.

I tested it in IE, Firefox and Chrome. Firefox and chrome work correctly and open only a small popup, but IE opens a full screen tab, but still works as intended. The service is provided by vozme.com.

I noticed this..lol..I was wondering what was going on..I use firefox and I only have the option on certain post not all of them, not sure if it's just me though.

Edit: Checked again and now it works for all post..
I think it's a GREAT idea!!. This could come in very handy.

I wonder if it's not showing in new posts that you have just made. Try refreshing the screen to see. This is a test too.

EDIT: worked for me on a new post... I'll have to see whats up.

Hi Mike..it also worked for me with the Safari. Like most voice programs it is precise although slow. Does it have options for language preference ?

Sweet! Sometimes my eyes have trouble tracking the words, so this voice option is cool. And...forgive me, the super nerd just has to say this... She sounds like GLaDOS from Portal. "The Enrichment Center is committed to the well being of all participants. Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all." Alright, alright, sorry, I'm insane.

Whenever I click "speak", it just opens up a blank window.

what operating system are you using mr goldfish? you have to allow popups for this site to hear it..and make sure your sound is up
