How-To Videos?

EDIT: I just saw the basic setup vid that is on the Freshwater Setup page....kinda nullifies my intentions I guess. lol Shows how long it's been since I've been there.

In a couple of weeks I'm going to be videotaping a wedding. In order to practice I thought about making some how-to video's involving, setting up a tank, cycling, and other important subjects. Since not everybody comprehends things best through reading (Myself included) I figured there might be a place for such videos on Fishlore. What do you think?

I think that would be awesome. I can create a "How To" video section in the video forum and/or video directory.

So what subjects would you want to see? I'm trying to decide if basic cycling should be an independant video...or placed at the beginning of a "setup" video. Due to the fact that most beginners would likely watch a "setup" video and then watch nothing else.

I would mention the cycle in the set up vid. It is a good place to talk about cycling alternatives as well.( TSS, ammonia, etc.)
Rinsing gravel- substrate options (gravel,flourite,eco complete, etc.)
Water conditioners- prime,stress coat, etc.
Filters and how much filtration for size of tank-
How to clean filters
Adding Fish methods-and QT importance
Cleaning
Testing
How long do you want to make the vid? LOL

I would probably put cycling, basic substrate, water conditioners, and filtration in a setup vid. Advanced substrate is a subject for someone else as I know very little about it.

Filter cleaning and maintenence could be a seperate video, as well as QT tanks/fish adding, and water testing.

Good idea...For me to do it I'd have to break a tank though, lol.
