How does this forum support itself? No, annoying pop ups, not much advertising, and no asking for contributions. Just curious.

I think it just kind of runs on volunteer basis. I don't think any of the mods get paid or anything.
My guess would be its run by the love of fish!

I think they use the extra money from the ads on the main page or the forum is free.

Those ads up there at the top of the page. You will never see pop-ups or asking for donations on Fishlore. As long as we cover the costs of running the site that's all we care about.

Members and mods help on a volunteer basis, which makes the work everyone does here even more wonderful.

Great stuff Mike. Its really a great site here. BTW for those advertisers watching...I have and will again order from people who have the links at the top of the page.
The reason I asked initally is I will be having some plants that will need pruning soon and I was wondering if there were forum auctions or anything like that. I am glad to see you are self sufficient so I will most likely just post a ROAK ( Random act of kindness) in the plant swap section. I dont really need to make money on them but thought it would be nice to put them to some use.
