No Links to Animal Cruelty Sites!

This is a reminder:

PLEASE - do not post links to animal cruelty websites or pictures or videos of animal abuse. Yes, we are animal lovers here but this is not an "activist" website. We don't have an organized way to do anything about all of the abuses taking place out there. There are plenty of "activist" places that you can contact: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...vists&aq=f&oq=
Complain to the website owner, webhost, or youtube, but don't post links here to that stuff. This is an open forum and there are younger people and we just can't be posting links to these things. It's just not appropriate.

We have many young members who we don't want to stumble in to this stuff. We also want their parents to feel comfortable with them coming here and knowing they don't have to worry about what they will inadvertently be exposed to. I feel what they are exposed to is a parental choice.
As an oldster I don't particularly want to stumble into it or have to moderate it either.

Yup, im all for this rule, i guess im a younger member-im 15. and carols right, the last thing i want to see when i come on here is animal cruelty videos etc..

The general idea of fishlore is to talk to other fish keepers and share your questions and experiences with them right?

I dont know if this is already something that goes on, but maybe any threads about animal cruelty videos and websites should be deleted?

they are deleted thats why most dont know they go on but sometimes they sneak in ...

I did see one the other day though, bettas fighting in a vase= not nice at all

But i think it got deleted within about 15 minutes of being posted which is great

Yep it was taken care of fast
If you ever see anything that you are unsure about or that makes you uncomfortable click the report button at the bottom of the post. It doesn't get anybody into trouble or anything but it does give the Mods a heads up to take a look at it. It takes all of us to keep our site the way we want it- friendly and safe
We even have people younger than you Platy. I think we have an 8 yr old also.

ohh, good to finally know about the report button, i always thought it was if someone said something offensive, which never happens here .
