Important photo contest info

One of the great things about Fishlore is the ability to share photos of our tanks and prized fish with others who share our enthusiasm for the hobby. The photo contests hosted on the site every month are a fun, friendly competition that many members enjoy participating in, or just viewing, on a regular basis. And the gift certificates given to the winners are a nice little perk too!

However, there are some rules that govern the monthly photo contests, and unfortunately there have been a number of recent instances of people trying to get around or ignore those rules. Since such violations can result in being permanently banned from Fishlore, just as violation of forum rules can, please be sure that you thoroughly understand the rules before you participate in the contests. All of these guidelines are important, but please pay particular attention to the following:

You are only allowed to vote for one photo in each contest.
You agree not to ask others to vote for your photos on the forum.
Anyone caught trying to cheat will get their membership revoked (banned).

Examples of trying to cheat would include, among other things, registering multiple member names for the sole purpose of logging multiple votes in the photo contest. (In fact, no one should be registering multiple member names at all...contest related or otherwise).

Remember, these contests are intended to be friendly and fun. Help keep them that way by understanding and adhering to the rules that govern them.
