| Plant of the Month??
I Think that there either should be a plant of the month section too, or just more info on Plants... I think since that can be a big part of aquaria, we should include more info... |

| i agree.... plants are such a big part of this hobbey. i complement u on your thoughts and i belive it should be.
more knowlage on the topic would mean more people investing in plants after all and also learnig that u need more than 1 wat per galloo with ferts ad co2.
depending on wat u get into obviosly. |

Do you add fertilizer to your water, Fertilizer saved my plants after i couldnt figure out why they looked so bad. |

| I don't use fertilizer, i'll try that. Do you use liquid, soil or plant sticks? |

| The forum has an Aquarium Plants section - but the acctual sites Plant page is... 'Not-so extensive'. There is also a houseplant profiled in the aquarium plants section! (Spathiphyllum wallisii, or Peace Lilly)
Perhaps we could start writing Plant profiles on the forum for Mike to post onto the main body of the site? |

I guess the profiles would have to be approved first - but say, maybe if 3-5 members approve of the profile it could be posted up to the main site? I would certinatly have a lot of profiles to upload... (Look at the encyclopedia aquatica link in my sig, you'll get an idea of what I mean by 'a lot'...) |

| I think that the peace lily can be aquatic, I was reading about it. There are some strains that are but it does take a lot of work to actually find it in the aquatic form. |

| Spathiphyllum tasson(sold as brazillian sword) is similar in looks to the Peace Lily and in the same family but is also non-aquatic. They both do great as terrarium plants or with their leaves out of the water.

carol | Peace lilys do great as houseplants as well, in a well lit site with no direct sunlight (direct sunlight damages the leaves). |

| I updated the umbrella plant to say that it is not a plant meant for aquariums. At one time I was kind of getting into plants, but then was bitten by the coral bug and my attention shifted.
If anyone is interested in writing up profiles on fish or plants we are always willing to post them on the main site. We can't reuse anything copyrighted (articles, pictures) but if anyone wants to write up a profile in their own words send them in (support at fishlore dot com). If you do use some sources for your info (sometimes you just have to), we need to credit the source of the info.
We can launch them with the magazine at the end of each month. |

A lot of the stuff in my Encyclopedia Aquatica (an un-copyrighted fish database with all facts researched and written down by me) would be suitable for the main site - although some articles may require expanding, and I would have to re-trace my information sources. | on the start page, we should bring out an aquatic plant profile section, right under the fish section. I can think of a few plants that could be added there. |
