Another Idea...

Heres another thought, I don't know if it will work. What if, in our aquarium info there was a little thing you had to answer that said- How long to you quarantine your fish for? I'm not sure if it would help us address people problems, but it could be an opportunity to get the information about quarantining fish out there. However, it could just be a hassle for Mike to have to go in and adjust it. What do you guys think?

I think it could be a hassle for Mike and for those who have quarantined their fish for different amounts of time...

Yeah, it would be a problem as there is no set rule for a quarantine time period - some fish you can quarantine for 2-3 weeks, others may end up in quarantine for over a month.

Still, it wasn't a bad idea.

Yeah, I think it's a good idea, but I don't quarantine my bettas at all because they have their own tanks!

MeGusta brings up an excellent point. Maybe a new fishkeeper doesn't even know about quarantine procedures. I put a link to the QT article so they can read up on it. Maybe it will get them thinking more about it and the benefits of it even if they don't fill in the info.

If anyone wants to update your info go up to the menu up top and then click on "My Settings" and then click on "Edit Aquarium Info". You can edit your aquarium info following this link too: http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/pr...do=editprofile

It's a good idea to quaratine any new fish before adding them to your tank.
It may be a little inconvenient, but better than wiping out your entire stock.
