Question: Chatroom?

Hey I've been thinking would anyone be interested if this site/forum had a chatroom, where people could get quick answers if people we're in there to help at the time, instead of waiting in the forum for replies?

Also would be a nice way to get to know eachother.

I've seen these work on Reptile sites and forums and are mostly very popular all the time

Just a thought.

This has been brought up several times and each time the decision was not to have a Chatroom. Most questions need to be asked in the forums, who knows maybe someone not in chat needs this information also http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/se...earchid=148754 Many of us have MSN Messenger, AIM or Yahoo and chat in this way. If you choose to contact someone about being added to their buddy list Please Identify yourself in some way. I personally don't add anyone who I don't recognize

I feel adding a chatroom is asking for trouble...It would require a 24/7 babysitter unless it was only open certain times of the day when a mod could supervise the activity...I'm very comfortable with the current forum and feel that everyones questions are being answered in a timely fashion...

OK fine, the real reason I don't want it is because Shawnie and I will get banned! (kidding)

I remember when Nessie was banned... were you around then? for weeks afterward I was afraid that I would log in and it would say I was banned.

No, I wasn't lol.....But there have been some close calls for me so I have learned to behave....I forget sometimes there are young kids on this forum......

Don't worry Everyone and I mean everyone who gets banned get several warnings and is aware they are skating on thin ice(whether they admit it or not). This is one of the Mod functions all the Mods have to do that we hate the most but we have rules....

I love chatting..but at least with the forum and no chat room, I do get up to switch the laundry now n then

A chatroom sounds like a great idea

All the comments are appreciated and everyone has their own say *freedom of speech*

It was just a thought in my mind.

And about the timely chatroom, we have atleast 1 moderator of the forum from UK and US and that's all we'll really need a few uk mods a few us mods to sort the time issue out.

I'd happily be the UK mod, and Im sure mods on the forum wouldnt mind being a mod in the chatroom.

But it was just a thought.

Butterfly, if the people from the poll vote yes, would that mean you'll try it?

I forgot to put on a end date so I'll leave it for another week and read the vote results.

Slakey since Mike has the last word even if the poll results say yes lets see what happens. If Mike says yes then of course I'll do all I can do.
