Thread Suggestion

I thought it may be helpful to add the date in which a thread was created where the thread title is... (as an automatic feature)

Often times, I go to reply to a thread that has been resurected from a long time ago only to realize that it is a very old thread.

I thought that since there seems to be ample room in the white box "Thread/Thread Starter" that the date might come in handy. Although, I am completely unsure if it can even be done, even if you liked the idea.

just a thought...

Hmm.. yea, I watch for the "last post" date and limit it to a month, but sometimes find OLD first post dates.

I understand in the forum rules we should not resurrect old threads, but here's the thing - proper etiquette says that one should first use the search function to see if their question may have already been answered, right? What if the search answers most of the question, but further clarification is needed? Should an entirely new thread be posted just to get the clarification? If the original date is posted, people with valuable input may skip right over it just because it is an old thread.

Just playing devil's advocate

IMHO, a new thread should be then made with referance that a search was done but further clarification was needed.

I agree with D. New thread with link to old one that says, "It answered x1,x2, and x3 for me, but I still need to know x4." (Linking is as simply as copying that page's address and pasting it into the text space that I am currently typing in. )

OK. I was just wondering. Thanks for the clarification/input.
