Upgrading Forum Soon (yet again)

Man it seems like we just upgraded. Wait, we did! I know, please don't be cursing me under your breath. I want to take us into new realms, far away places, exotic lands never seen before.... No, really I just want to move the forum to vbulletin. So, it could be as soon as tonight that I put the forum into maintenance mode. This means that you can't log in or post. I need to do this to make sure that I have all the members and posts imported over to the new database.

Please be patient while we roll out the new forum. Hopefully the new software will make things a little easier on everyone.

Still in the process of upgrading, but thought we could start letting members back online.

I still have tons left to do but will have to tackle them tomorrow eve. I need to hookup the logins for the photo gallery, avatars, smileys, new modifications, etc.

Quick question though... is there still a link to our recent posts/threads like there used to be?I can't seem to find it.

yer i agree i didn't wnat to be the first one and get cursed by everyone eelse.

anyways i agree and our pics are they still there

i am not sure one the new posts feature when i click on it it comes up witht the threads but it has ones i've already looked at how do i get rid of them?

Yep - look under the "Quick Links" in the navigation bar at the top.

Still working on getting ALL of the attachments into the database. It keeps locking up on me. Will have to troubleshoot later.

I have to be honest Mike, I was just getting used to the other one, and now it's changed again!

Several things have become apparent:

• You have an expletives filter which completely messed up my sig;
• Links on the sigs don't link again;
• The images limit is a total pain, as it's too restrictive. 620x280 isn't a very large image!
• not quite sure about the attachment system now. The last one was easy, this one isn't;
• It wouldn't accept my login at all and I had to go through the email new password business to get back in;
• The back to top button has disappeared again!
• Avatars aren't showing;

that's all I've found so far, other than that, well done! I guess that this was not just a simple upgrading of the previous forum, but a total shift onto a new platform!

Sorry to be so negative, it's going against my nature, especially as I know how much work you've put into this one, but you can't please all the people all the time!

Signature links won't work because the schema for making the links has changed, as far as I'm aware. A back to top button would be easy enough to add.

Avatars and image sizes are something Mike will have to change... I believe any custom avatars were wiped when the upgrade took place. At the moment you can't upload a custom avatar.

eeeh i donno i get lost in this site now, i like it kinda the more i use it but i gess ill give it a try i never could get pics on the last one so i donno about this one.... some things are nice the hot post thing had me really lost for a little while. thanks for thinking of us mike and your crew if you have one
