caresheet for each species

Hi Mike, and others. Am thinking of writing a caresheet on otos. Just the do's and don'ts I've learnt on them, and of course I'd welcome any additions to that thread. This got me thinking that, whoever volunteers to create a caresheet for a particular species well that it could get systematically stickie'd in the species section. Anyway, am starting with otos, and if anybody else cares to add another one, that'd be great (I think).

i'll do one on a kind of chiclid hmm maybe severums or something jewels? i dunno i'll think of something i'll have to see ur first to get the idea. imagine how many people will want to do the betta lol

That'd be so cool, Callum, thanks! Let me know when you've done it. I don't know if you can sticky. If not, I'll try, and if it doesn't work, we'll ask a mod to do it.

I know it's kind of double usage with the official Fishlore caresheets per species (i.e. not in the forum, but in Fishlore main), but perhaps these don't get as much reading traffic.

If someone thinks it's a bad idea, I can always go back and unsticky it all.

I don't think it's a problem that more people will want to do the same species. It'll be in the form of a thread, so people can just add posts. To stop it getting too messy, maybe all the relevant points can be copy/pasted to the first post of the thread, like I did for the 'early mistakes' thread in the beginners section.

If anyone wants to make a post on the care of a species - that's cool with me provided that they don't take content from other websites (i.e. no text or photos from other sites without their written permission).

Something else. Perhaps we also have some kind of a disclaimer on each caresheet post saying that this represents only the author's advice based on their experience, rather than representing Fishlore's opinion.

We could also encourage improvements/amendments from other members to make sure that the caresheet post is not the result of one person's experience only. I already do this on my Early mistakes post (add new comments to original caresheet, with author's name). I could administer the caresheets, not a problem (asking experienced individuals to create the first shoot and appending all new comments to it).
