Locking topic: how to unlock?

Hi everyone

I was trying something so I clicked on lock this topic, but now I can't modify or reply, although am the topic's author. (in http://www.fishlore.com/Forum/index.php?topic=12209.0)

How do I unlock it?

Yea, the little lock icon is a toggle between lock & unlock. i unlocked it & merged your 2 threads for you.

Oooh, am just reading your answer in slightly more detail here, Dave. Are you saying I could have unlocked it myself by clicking on the lock symbol, and it would have allowed me to do that as the author? I'll create a fake post and try that.

OK, just tried it and indeed I can't unlock it myself. That would be a nice improvement to the forum, actually, if the author of the thread was the only person allowed to lock it, and if that author was also the only person allowed to UNlock it (bar moderators, of course, who are godly creates and have all rights )

i thought an author could unlock a post too, i guess the software only allows mods to unlock a post. looks like something to ask Mike about.

Well it could be me being software-incompetent. I am often known to do that.

ATM, would you mind trying, as you're not a mod? I'd just create a fake test post and lock it.

I was able to unlock it, it's the same button as the lock button.

That is so odd. I wonder if it's a number of post thing again (as in linked to your membership category). I'll try again on a test one.

you see, it has to do with your global proximity to the mole people underneath the earth. they have a large colony city there, so that's the problem..

You should be able to lock/unlock your own posts once you're a certain level - I believe "fish keepers" on up can do this. Armadillo - you should have the permissions to do this. I'm at a loss as to why you can't... Maybe an Internet Explorer thing again?
