New Member Map

I just finished adding the mod for the google member maps. To add your pin, click on the "Map" button on the menu at the top of the forum, or click here. Then click on "Click here to go place your pin if you have not already" at the bottom of the map. This will take you into your forum profile where you can zoom in on the map using the + and - signs or you can click on the map scrollbar. To move the map around you just click on the map and drag it with your hand icon. Zoom into your location and click your location to place your pin. Click your pin again to remove it if you want to re-do it.

For the younger members - please please please get your parents permission before using this feature or even better, DON'T USE IT. If giving out your location makes you uncomfortable in the slightest way, then please don't use this feature! Also, you don't have to use your exact location... Place your pin in your country, but don't place it in your city or state, etc. I think the cool part about the maps is that you can see at a glance what countries members are from.

And all the garbage in my neighbor's back yard, and his truck. However, the image is a bit old, as the car that has been in my driveway for months isn't there.

I wonder when that picture was taken. My car is not in the driveway, and it has been in the driveway for over 4 years. Hmmmm. But it is crazy how close you can get.

yea, i love Google Earth - it's cool, but sometimes the images are old. Probably because of the time needed to 'clean' the satellite images for public viewing.

um I'd place a pin on my house but on google earth its still in the process of being built so, according to this map i live on a building site. Soo I'm guessing the picture are at least 7 years old. my house was 5 years old when i moved in and ive lived here 2 years soo, 7 years old seems right. hehe

With this new upgrade you can literally say, 'I can see my house from here'.

I love doing this, if you go to zillow.com you can zoom in even closer to your house, or at least for me

It's just the same as the google map for me. But according to this zillow map, our 's is the second cheapest house on the entire block.

according to zillow.com, our house is covered in snow.. in fact the entire area is all white. live earth might have more up to date maps in some areas (although still out of date), but it seems to cover less areas than google earth.

I'm sorry, FLBettaCouple and atmmachine, but the redundantly redundant have no place in a home. The automated teller machine machine has to stay out in random fields. :P
Just remember to head for the sweet corn fields, not the feed corn.
