Frog habitats

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I hope so!
I was at the mall yesterday, and I walked into one of those places that sells massage chairs and whatnot, and what do you think I saw? Piles and piles of frog habitats. I think its essentially what happened when bettas got really popular- a tiny bowl of water, maybe 4 by 2 inches, with some gravel, a bamboo plant, 2 african dwarf frogs, and what I think was a small apple snail, all sold in a kit. It said the gravel was a natural filter, and that the plant would help keep the water clean. You just change the water twice a year.
The frogs all looked so sick, with ICH or velvet, and raw patches of skin. They were either gasping at the top for air, or lying sideways on the bottom. I have some pictures that I'll upload soon.
I've never really lodged a formal protest against something like this, but I think we need to nip it in the bud before it becomes the next big fad. I think I'll try emailing the company, but does any one else have any ideas?

Heres a link to the product- http://www.brookstone.com/Frog-O-Sph...56P%7Cnew%7Cs1

I've seen them and hate them.
The frogs cannot possibly live for long in those things.
Many years ago my daughter bought one...before we knew anything about fish/frog keeping.
The directions looked so easy. Little did we know.
The poor thing didn't last long.

I think we get the idea without having pics.

Oh, I didn't realize they'd been around a while. I thought they were new...

Sadly,no.
Every couple of years they pop up in malls. I've even seen them with fish in them.

It sure wouldn't hurt to write to the company.

When I was a kid I also owned a tiny frog kit. Luckily I soon got a large fish tank and decided to put the frog in that with some fish. I'm disappointed that a store like Brookstone would sell such a product. I usually love Brookstone products, but they really need to do some research before selling live animals and habitats.

I just left a negative review for the product on the website in hopes that it'll encourage potential buyers to think twice. I just said that the habitat does not provide adequate filtration or space for African dwarf frogs. Hopefully Brookstone will actually verify my review and show it on the website.

Several days after I left a negative review, Brookstone emailed me a coupon for $10 off my next purchase. Makes me laugh that I got rewarded for leaving a negative review for an item that I never even bought from Brookstone.

I just rote a negative review - writing about the apple snails in there... Only to go back and look at the picture and realize it's a nerite... Oops... I should probably be able to edit it if it gets through.
