Marineland H.O.T. Magnum

Good morning,
I used my H.O.T. for the first time yesterday on my 26g. Love it! It did a great job polishing the water after my vacuum and water change. I used the micron filter only, and for 4 hours. I didn't use the diatomaceous earth (D.E.) this time simply because the set up is so new (tank is 5 weeks old and cycled). I just want to give the tank a bit more time before I use the D.E..
The filter is easy to assemble and easy to clean, no leaks and ran like a champ. It surpassed my expectations.

Are those like canister filters but hang on the back? I'm thinking of purchasing one of those for my 10g well planted tank.

Here is a link to the one I have. Love it! I only use it for water polishing with the micron filter every now and then. Does a great job. 250gph

What do you mean water polishing? Making it crystal clear?

They do work well so I'll add my thumbs up for it.

Heh, I think on a 10 gal it should clear it right up. They put out quite the flow.

Hello eiginh. Yes, it helps to make your water crystal clear when you use the micron filter cartridge. They can also be used with the regular filter inserts as a full time filter.

Cant go wrong!!! My HOT Magnum has been running for 18 years now....Occasional maintenance...impeller and gaskets, all available from marineland. Have made baffles to achieve calm water and not affect the flow. Also there is a recent thread here to dyi a spray bar.

The HOT that I have has a 250gph. It will surely do well on your 10g.
