AquaClear 110

Product/Service: AquaClear 110 Power (HOB) Filter

Description: Large filter for 60-110 gallons of water with 500 GPH. Standard AquaClear HOB design with a BioBag, carbon, and sponge included.

Pros: Having 3 different types of filter media allows for one to be cleaned while the others remain in the filter. Also has an adjustable flow rate.

Cons: Intake tubes clog easily from algae. (hardly a con)

Re: AquaClear 110

Remember though, it does 500GPH.
In an ideal setup a tank does it's volume x 10GPH
so this would not be a good filter for the range of tank it says it would be....

It's good for me. My tank is only 29 gallons, but my lfs said I wouldn't be sorry if I got the 110 filter...and I'm not!

I run an AC110 on my 40g. I've had it for two years now, and I've only had to remove algae from the intake tube twice in that time. I absolutely love this filter because of the volume of water it moves with little or no bypass, as well as the extremely low level of noise it produces. For my money, there simply is not a better HOB filter.
