My black sailfin molly passed away during the night and I have no idea why. All the other fish in the tank look fine and as of two days ago when I did my last water check all stats were normal. As I write this I am preparing to test the water again. Usually I do a water change on Sunday, but I will most likely be doing a water change today instead no matter the results of the water tests.

I only had him for two weeks, so perhaps he was just not as strong as the two other mollys I bought him with?

Hello JAA. So sorry to hear you lost Ebony. A water change in most cases is always a good place to start.

I'm sorry. It's always sad when you lose a fish and don't know why. I'd start with a WC first just like aquarist said.

I'm so sorry you lost your ebony It's always difficult to tell whats wrong when you've only had them for such a short amount of time.
