
I know it's April Fools Day, but this isn't a joke. I wish it were, but it's not.
I went to admire my bettas Alpha and Beta just now. They shared a divided 10 gallon tank with caves and live plants and everything a
betta could ask for. They had been looking so lovely lately; Beta has developed red tips to all his fins, and Alpha was a deeper, more beautiful red than ever. But when I looked today, I couldn't find Alpha anywhere.
I finally found him behind his lily plant. I didn't see him at first because he blended in with the reddish leaves, but I moved it aside and it was clear he was dead. He was a horrible pale color, and he wasn't moving.
After crying for a really long time, I went to test the water. Nothing unusual. This morning, however, my sister fed him, and she says he didn't eat anything. I should have been worried, but he refuses food from time to time and he's never been sick before.
I'm really shocked by his sudden death, he was very dear to me and I will miss him every day. I made him a little coffin-shaped box with cardboard, hot glue, and red paint, and I will bury him in the yard tomorrow. Rest in peace, my Alpha-betta
